David J. Steitz Art Contest

Have you ever wondered where the wonderful artwork that hangs in our Brooklyn Avenue School auditorium came from?

All the artwork is actually donated and painted by artist and former teacher of Brooklyn, David J. Steitz.  David was an advocate of immigration rights and world peace.  Our auditorium was dedicated to him on June 14, 2007.

This year in celebration of his life and contributions to our school, Brooklyn held an art contest for our K-5th Grade students.  Entries where judged on originality and showing the message of world peace.

Thank you Ms. Mendoza for leading this art contest and for your donation of all the student prizes.
